The History Boys

In the early 1980’s, eight smart but mischievous students are preparing their A-level exams at a boy’s grammar school in Sheffield, hoping to enter Oxford or Cambridge. The students love their rather sentimental teacher, Hector, who teaches General Studies and is more interested in teaching how to live life than on acing the exams. Irwin, a History teacher who studied at Oxford, is hired by the school to help the boys on their A-level quest. Irwin is young and demanding. He is only interested in the students’ scores. The students calmly continue their studies despite the two teachers’ obvious differences in teaching style and philosophy. One day, the headmaster asks Hector to leave the school as he is displeased with his behavior of inappropriately expressing his homosexual orientation to the students. The students find out Irwin is not an Oxford graduate. The students are about to begin a new chapter in their lives. The life and career of the teachers are at risk. How will their history be written and remembered?
